Rukario's Shaman Ch. 3

Chapter 4

Rukario's staffs appeared in his paws as he got in a fighting stance "This is going to be a difficult fight…I could put up a fight but I have to watch out for her…" Rukario growled and looked back at Tatiana "Get on my back." He whispered and the little girl grabbed onto him as Rukario glared at the spirits. The demons moved aside and the giant shadow took form and a huge snake appeared causing Rukario to take a step back "No it can't be…Not him…" Tatiana saw the frighten look on her spirit's face "Who is it?" she asked and the jackal glimpsed back at his charge "It's Apophis…the demon who is the enemy of Ra…" as Rukario finished his description the snake spoke "I see you know about me…so you know why I'm here…I want you and your shaman to join up with the darkness of the abyss…it will make you powerful. So do we have deal…" he hissed and Rukario growled "We would never join you…" he hissed and Tatiana glared "Rukario is right." She spoke and the snake hissed "Well then I guess I have no choice but to beat you into submission and take you both by force." He hissed and the demons flew at Tatiana and Rukario who had gotten in his defensive stance as he looked back at Tatiana "I can defeat the demons but if Apophis attacks…I don't know if I can do anything." Tatiana looked up at Rukario "Then we will have to find and opening to escape back to the spirit world." Rukario nodded "Understood, mistress!" he said as he dodged a demon before he ran at the others as Tatiana held on to his back tightly. They would have to make it through this together of be defeated as one was all that was going through Tatiana and Rukario's minds as the jackals staffs glowed with the power of the gods.

Rukario was striking the demons with his staffs knocking them this way and that as Tatiana gripped his neck tightly. Rukario was struck by a demon that wielded a staff and was sent sliding across the ground. Tatiana fell off his back as he hit the ground and his staffs flew from his paws. The spirit gasped and tried reach his staffs but he only got to one and quickly held it up as the demon tried to slam the staff on him. Rukario growled he was in the worse possible place now in a close combat battle…on the ground with both hands occupied which meant he was open for an attack if the creature…The demon pulled out another weapon…has another weapon. Tatiana had gotten up and saw the predicament her guardian was in and ran to his ankh staff that was on the ground and looked at it "He needs his other weapon…" she ran toward her spirit as demon flew at her. Rukario looked back "No TATIANA!" he called as the demons dived at his shaman. Tatiana stared up at them "RA…help…" she pleaded as the creatures closed in on her. Rukario looked up and was a flaming falcon dive at the demons and Tatiana. It dived into the staff and waves of light erupted from the divine metal. Tatiana gasped as she opened her eyes and saw a flaming falcon sitting on her shoulder "Ra sent you didn't he…" she asked and the spirit screeched. Rukario gasped had Tatiana just called on a spirit of a god. Apophis gasped "she is doing things out of instinct just think of what she can do trained….GRAB HER!" he hissed as Rukario gasped "MISTRESS LOOK OUT!" he called and kicked the demon off of his person and back flipped to his feet. Rukario ran to Tatiana's side and picked her up, the falcon flew at Apophis as he charged "We have to get out of here!" gasped the jackal as Tatiana placed the ankh staff in his paw. The demons were still attacking Rukario gasped "Aura Whirlwind!" he called destroying the demons as the vanish others started to appear…Tatiana gasped "Run!" as her spirit back up and took off running. But the snake wasn't about to let them go that easily. He knocked the falcon away and coiled around Tatiana and Rukario and glared down at them "You shall not escape me!" he dived at them his mouth wide. Rukario dropped to his knees and protected Tatiana with his body as the mouth got closer. Suddenly the flacon changed into a phoenix and dived over the two causing them to vanish into the spirit world. Apophis gasped and hissed angrily to the sky.

In the spirit world, Rukario and Tatiana had landed in the palace at the foot of Osiris' throne "Rukario, rise young spirit." The jackal looked up as he got on his knees and Tatiana followed suit. The two looked up at Osiris and expected a scolding but instead he spoke softly "You must go hone your skills…Rukario my fateful servant and one who I raised as a son…You will go to the temple of Ra to hone your magical abilities…you are only knowledgeable of one of your moves Aura Whirlwind…you must train the magic that Ra placed in your spirit…You leave tomorrow at the sun's rise…Ra will be waiting to take you to his temple." Rukario gasped "but what of Tatiana…" he asked and Osiris raised his hand "Patience my son…your shaman shall remain here and hone her skills with the spirits who dwell in my domain." Rukario looked at Tatiana who to his surprise nodded "Thank you Master Osiris…" she spoke and Lucario gasped "You know how to address him…humans don't usually learn of the gods till age 10…how do you?" Tatiana looked at her spirit "My parents told me of the gods the day I was able to comprehend…they told me the marks in my hair though look like dye are really a mark from the gods…That I had a big purpose in life but they didn't know what it was…" Rukario smirked "Age five but with wisdom far beyond her years…" Osiris nodded "I couldn't have said it better myself…you have one thing to do tonight Rukario…okay actually two things…One show your shaman the main rooms of the palace and the spirit spring…second after that is done…you will train until late night…well not train exactly…you will read up on your techniques on these papyrus tablets…they were given to me by Ra years ago to give to you… but even now you are not ready for advanced magic so you will study these before you go…" he summons a pile of papyrus and they float to Rukario who bows…"Yes master…" but Osiris frowns "You no longer bow to me…you are not my charge anymore…your master/mistress is Tatiana…she is the only one you bow to in this world for you see because you have found your shaman…you are no longer a lowly spirit…you are a protector of the spirit world like me and Anubis." Rukario gasped as he looked at Tatiana who smiled at him "Congratulations!" she said and the jackal smiled as they stood up "Ready for your tour…" he asked and Tatiana nodded as she took Rukario's hand and lead him toward the door he pointed out but not before turning to Osiris and speaking "Thank you… we are leaving your presence" as they ran out the door. Osiris chuckled as Anubis walked in "They grow up so quickly don't they…" as he smiled at his father who nodded "It seems like only yesterday when his soul came here…and was…" Anubis raised his hand "you don't have to say anymore…I know what you mean." As they smiled at each other.
